The two flavour Schwinger model: scaling of the scalar condensate
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigate the continuum limit scaling of the scalar condensate in the N f = 2 Schwinger model on the lattice. We employ maximally twisted mass Wilson fermions and overlap fermions. We compute the scalar condensate by taking the trace of the propagator (direct method) and by utilizing the integrated Ward-Takahashi identity. While the scalar condensate comes out consistent using these two methods for a given kind of lattice fermions, we find –quite surprisingly– large discrepancies for the scalar condensate between twisted mass and overlap fermions. These discrepancies are only resolved when using the point split current for twisted mass fermions.

Scaling test of fermion actions in the Schwinger model
We discuss the scaling behaviour of different fermion actions in dynamical simulations of the 2-dimensional massive Schwinger model. We have chosen Wilson, hypercube, twisted mass and overlap fermion actions. As physical observables, the pion mass and the scalar condensate are computed for the above mentioned actions at a number of coupling values and fermion masses. We also discuss possibiliti...

We study the scalar condensate and the topological susceptibility for a continuous range of quark masses in the Schwinger model with Nf = 0, 1, 2 dynamical flavors, using both the overlap and the staggered discretization. At finite lattice spacing the differences between the two formulations become rather dramatic near the chiral limit, but they get severely reduced, at the coupling considered,...
متن کاملStrange quark matter attached to string cloud in general scalar tensor theory of gravitation
Bianchi type-VI0 space time with strange quark matter attached to string cloud in Nordtvedt [1] general scalar tensor theory of gravitation with the help of a special case proposed by Schwinger [2] is obtained. The field equations have been solved by using the anisotropy feature of the universe in the Bianchi type-VI0 space time. Some important features of the model, thus obtained, have been di...

متن کاملTwo-flavour Schwinger model with dynamical fermions in the Lüscher formalism
with two degenerate flavours of fermions. For m = 0 it is exactly soluble[1] and has a known expansion in the mass[2]. Close to the chiral limit, we expect three light states (‘pions’), massive mesons and a non-zero fermion condensate. The lattice version is defined using compact link variables Uμ(x) ∈ U(1) with the standard plaquette action Sg[U ] and Wilson fermions with operator M . Integrat...
